Fun on Ashdown Forest

There are so many special areas of Ashdown Forest and we've explored very few of them so far but I'm working on seeing more of this gorgeous "area of natural beauty" we live so near. A friend recently suggested "Old Lodge" nature reserve for a walk and although we didn't see any of the wild ponies, our walk was stunning with blue skies and purple heather flowering.

The kids were off straight away running down the path, finding tree stumps to play on and brambles to munch. We stopped to play by a line of trees before walking back again and K led me over to see a red toadstool he'd spotted where I also found another lovely brown specimen. I was so glad I had my macro lens with me as the light was just perfect in this damp little area of the reserve.
