Travel & Food Photographer - Laksa in Ayer Itam, Georgetown, Penang

After our walk around Kek Lok Si Temple, we made our way down the hill in search of the famous Penang Ayer Itam Laksa. It was so popular, they were constantly swilling the spicy, fishy broth into bowls of noodles, lettuce and onion and topping it with the special, intense thick brown sauce which our taxi driver told us was made of shrimp brains.

We drank fresh sugar cane juice with it, super fresh...

It was lovely but a bit fishy for me (the laksa, not the sugar cane - that was lush, we had 3 glasses each!)

That evening we went down to the piers to watch sunset, it was beautiful!
