When a chocolate obsession meets a camera – this is what happens
I do love chocolate. Dark is my absolute favourite, although I’m quite fussy about flavours – not everything works for me.
My current obsession is Rowdy & Fancy’s Very Cherry – a rich dark chocolate with dried sour cherries that is genuinely one of the best things I’ve eaten recently. My usual stockist at Oast Farm in Buxted had sold out, so I placed an order online and decided to try a few other flavours at the same time.
Reader, I chose a rainbow.

(I could have included the lavender one to complete the set – but lavender in chocolate is a hard no from me. Some hills are worth dying on.)
The packaging alone is extraordinary – so beautiful that I had to photograph them before I could bring myself to open any. And once I had the camera out, one thing led to another.

They’re made locally too – in Forest Row, about 20 minutes from me near Uckfield. Which makes them even better somehow.
What This Has to Do With Brand Photography
Everything, actually.
This little personal shoot is a perfect example of what I love about product photography – finding the arrangement, the light and the angle that makes something beautiful look even more beautiful. The rainbow of bars fanned out on dark wood is an image that would stop anyone mid-scroll, and that’s exactly the job a great product photo should do for your business.
If you make, sell or create something physical – your products deserve photography that does them justice. Not a flat lay on a kitchen table, but something that tells the story of what makes your product special and makes people want to reach through the screen and pick it up.

Or if you’d like to talk about what a product shoot could look like for your brand – let’s have a natter.
P.S. Have you tried Rowdy & Fancy’s? Dark, milk or white – and which flavour? I need recommendations. The Very Cherry has set a very high bar.
