Your "Too Muchness" Is Your USP

This year I am focussing more on specialising in telling the story of my clients with colourful, bespoke photography, in particular for my branding clients.

I absolutely love watching my clients' businesses grow and evolve after their branding session with me. It's about so much more than having bespoke on-brand images to grab their followers' attention but also the boost in their confidence and overall professional image which in turn leads to growth. It's especially important after the year we've all had to be visible online and stand out from your competition.

I wanted to share an exercise I did with my business mentor this week all about embracing your “too muchness” and it was really interesting for us as business owners.

We all have different personalities, different words that we would use to describe ourselves, and my words for my personality are creative, joyful and friendly.

I would love to know what your three words would be to describe me, please drop those in the comments!

We also talked about things that are our “too muchness”... what we think of as negative elements of our personality.

We think they are too much. But that is not necessarily true!

For example, thinking you're too quiet, too loud, too shy, too gushy, too enthusiastic - whatever you think you are too much of.

For me it’s too colourful, too honest and being a perfectionist.

However, our potential clients, our ideal clients will LOVE our "too muchness"! Because they are our ideal clients, they love every aspect of our personality, because they resonate with us, they are attracted to us. Our vibe attracts our tribe! My clients appreciate my honesty - knowing the real me and my genuine thoughts on their online presence, my honest opinions when designing their shoot together, the fact I want their photos to be perfect and that I embrace colour to the max!

And generally our potential and ideal clients really want to see the authentic us, the genuine us, warts ‘n’ all! We are the face of our business, they want to get to know us. And consumers don't actually like perfect and false fronts, they want to see the real us, the messiness, the personality and face behind your product or service. It builds true connections and relationships and that's what marketing and sales is all about, building relationships, and connecting with people.

Also from a business sense, potential clients do actually need to get to know, like and trust you before they feel confident to make a buying decision so it's good business sense to show your true and full personality.

So let's all embrace our personality, our "too muchness", and show it to the world. And that's exactly what I do with my clients! We work together to design a shoot that captures their personality, their brand and business personality in such a way to attract more clients, build their online presence and grow their business.

So what would your too muchness be? What part of your personality do you think is too much? I'm here to tell you, as my mentor told me, it's not too much, it's just perfect.
