Sleeping Beauty - Panto in Eastbourne 2021 {Review}

What a show! We were invited along to watch the pantomime Sleeping Beauty at Devonshire Park Theatre in Eastbourne yesterday and we LOVED it!

Such brilliant escapism - a fun, hilarious, bright and sparkly couple of hours. Just the ticket this Christmas and perfect as one of our ADVENT-ures!

We each had a favourite character, you might have seen in my stories yesterday. Kalyan loved Chester the Jester, Priya loved Aurora and I loved Carabosse (she'll always be Maleficent in my head). We were treated to brilliant songs, the usual cheesy panto laughs and some fabulous topical jokes too! Of course we had the "it's behind you" and "oh no it isn't" moments too and lots of audience participation.

We all loved the scene with Chester and Nanny with the juke box (especially when there was a lot of laughing over a missed line), you could really tell the whole cast was enjoying themselves and thriving in being back on stage this year! Kalyan keeps talking about the part when Carabosse made Prince Valiant dance to the sea shanty, lol.

The costumes were fantastic, flamboyant and full of glitter, as were the sets and we were even treated to a few pyrotechnic effects!

Here are a few more photos of some of my favourite scenes:

And a few photos of us having fun in between...

Sleeping Beauty is on in Eastbourne until 9th January, you can book tickets here.

We received complementary tickets in return for a review. All opinions & photos are my own.
