I love including my clients’ animals in their brand photoshoots. Furry, hairy, feathery… they bring a whole new angle to a brand’s personality, and sometimes even to its purpose! Plus, they always get great engagement – who doesn’t love a cutie on the feed?
Take my Chroma client Victoria. Frankie is the official welcome committee at her shop, From Victoria in Lewes, often popping out from beside the till to say hello to customers with her adorable face. Frankie, not Victoria! 😉
Then there’s Tina, one of Sam Stas’ fur babies. She plonked herself down on a pink velvet cushion, stuck out her matching pink tongue at me, and won me an LPA Pro Award in 2024!

Woody was desperate to get in on the action at Zoe’s shoot for Half The Sky, consulting at her desk to make sure she got the very best behind-the-scenes images.
Maggie completely stole the show at a beach shoot on Holywell in Eastbourne:

Trevor wanted Accounting Now to feel more approachable to the family businesses he hoped to attract. So as part of his Spectrum shoot, we brought his family and their dog along for a walk in Buxted Park. Instantly relatable, and so much more inviting than a desk portrait (although we did them too of course)!
Then there are the countryside brands with a whole field of characters to capture. At Bignose & Beardy, that meant hens, sheep, pigs, a buzzy visitor and a cock with seriously vicious side eye!

And sometimes I just happen to catch a passer-by who adds to the vibe. A seagull photobomb? Only in Brighton!

Thinking of bringing yours along?
Pets are welcome on every shoot – furry, feathered, or scaly. In fact, I’d love to photograph a snake one day, so if you’ve got one, please let us include it! If your animal is part of your day, your story or your brand, let’s get them in the frame. Get in touch and tell me all about them.
